LITTLE STARS DAYCARE CENTER welcomes pupils of all nationalities and provide full education in Nursery and Primary school. The school works in accordance with the Rwanda curriculum as defined by RWANDA EDUCATION BOARD (REB) as well as with the expectation of The Ministry of Education (MINEDUC). The school rules define the school functioning regulations as well as the rights and duties of each member of the educational community.
 
The school functions are from 8:00 am up to 17:00 pm from Monday to Friday. The mini-club afternoon childcare service is available at an extra cost. A free of charge children supervision service is offered to pupils in the school premises according to the weather conditions.
A legal representative or specifically designated person should be present at the gate for the exit of the children. Only the person who holds the kid’s card is allowed to pick him/her.
Once the children have been taken in charge of their parents or their legal representative, they fall under their responsibility.
Without a leaving authorization, children whose parents are late will stay under supervision within the school premises. If the child spends more than 30 minutes after their leaving time, the extra cost will be charged.
In case of an unexpected exit before time, the child’s teacher and the administration shall be notified beforehand.
Snack time: 10 am to 10.15 am
Break time: 10.15 am to 10.45
During break time, the pupils are not allowed to enter any classrooms.
Diligence is essential for the children’s educational success. The school calendar is disclosed at the beginning of the academic year and shall be strictly respected.
Pupils can only be dispensed from physical education with a medical certificate.
Any absences should be notified to the teacher or head teacher by letter or by phone as soon as possible.
Diligence is important; lateness is tolerated only on an exceptional basis. In case of regular lateness, a letter from the headmaster will be sent to the parents to remind them about the schedule.
Pupils are expected to have good body hygiene and to come to school with clean clothes.
Parents shall make sure that their children vaccination card is up to date.
Pupils with a contagious illness shall stay home. They should provide a medical certificate stating the illness and the possible return date.
The school should be notified as soon as possible.
In case of an accident or a medical emergency, the family is immediately notified by the head teacher. The child receives first aid and is transported to the nearby health center.
Safety within the premises is incumbent upon the members of the educational community.
Dangerous items (cutters, knives…) and dangerous games are forbidden at school.
Only members of the educational community are granted access to the premises (pupils, teachers, parents and administrative staff)
Personal discipline creates the best conditions for success:
 politeness, respect of others, secularity, cleanliness of the premises and respect of the equipment are essential. Pupils should use the appropriate bins to sort their waste.
In case of voluntary degradation of the equipment or
 premises, the financial responsibility of the parents is entailed.
Any discrimination or xenophobic behavior or words are subject to sanctions.
The secularity principles apply to all. Any religious signs or outfits are forbidden.
The use of mobile phones is strictly forbidden within school hours. Teachers may use their phones when their teaching hour is over.
In order to avoid any problems, valuable objects (jewelers, video-games, mp3 players, phones, …..) as well as important sums of money should not be brought to school.
The school cannot be held responsible for any exchange, loss or theft of the children’s personal belongings.
Daily homework is assigned to children. Each child is required to do it at home and present them on set dates.
Communication is essential for the great functioning of the school and for each child’s follow-up.
The dialogue between parents and teachers is important;
 appointments can be arranged at a convenient time for both parties upon request.
 An information meeting is organized at the beginning of every academic year.

The school will offer its shareholders and its employees a variety of benefits in excess of stated salaries. These additional on-the-job perks are the following:
The child of a shareholder will only pay for school materials and uniform.
The school will pay meals and a half of school fees for the child whose parents work for the school.
One time in the three years, the school will sponsor 100% for meals to the one child of the parents whose three children in the school.
 One time in the three years, the school will sponsor 100% to the one child of the parents whose four children or above in the school
